Overall the paper is not very difficult to understand. I feel like I get probably 75% of it after a first quick read and I'm sure it'll be easier to absorb more on another read and when looking up things. There's very little graph theory to understand and the deep learning concepts + background on embeddings are very related to things seen in NLP classes here.
