Asked for quote from: KEN GARFF HYUNDAI DOWNTOWN 717 SO WEST TEMPLE STREET SALT LAKE CITY, UT 84101 801-257-3200
Update: Anthony from Ken Garff called me back and let me know that a) they don't stock them here in Utah at all, b) dealerships in CA are selling them for $3K above MSRP because the demand is high. So it's not really an option right now.
(2019) MSRP $33,575
Consumer Reports Edmunds KBB.com
2019 model: Drove 2019-08-27 from Tim Dahle South Towne. Liked the drive and thought it could be a good vehicle for me especially used after a couple of years.
Redesigned in 2018. 2017 and earlier model years are pretty ugly.
Range - 151 to 215 mi Dimensions - 176″ L x 71″ W x 61-62″ H
Base trim level (S) includes Bluetooth but Android Auto isn't available until the highest trim level (SL).
MSRP $30,646
2019 model: Drove 2019-08-23 from Brent Brown Toyota. Didn't love it, especially because of the price. Has a 25-mile electric-only radius
KBB.com says that my 2003 Matrix is worth:
Trade: $900 - $1,600 Private Party: $2,093 - $3,700
Jon at Tim Dahle South Towne called me today and let me know that they have two used Leafs that I might be interested in:
Update: I went to Tim Dahle because I thought these were the same trim level as the one in Layton. I was mistaken (SL vs. SV). Still planning on the Layton one.
Carvana has the same Leaf SL as Layton, but fewer miles and better color. Unfortunately, they wouldn't negotiate on the base price. Here's their total out-the-door price:
2018 Nissan Leaf SL in Layton - $23,600 (KBB says fair price is $24,500)
Pearl white 2018 Nissan Leaf-SL, 170 mile range, Technology package. Protection package. 440 volt fast charger, Leather seats. Tinted windows. Trailer hitch/bike rack holder. Non-smoker. Excellent condition inside and out.
Curtis: I'm very interested in the 2018 Nissan Leaf that you have listed on KSL (VIN 1N4AZ1CP6JC307672). Are you a dealer or private party? Do you have a CarFax (or similar report) available?
Ron: I am a dealer I can get you a car fax
Curtis: Excellent!
Ron: A very small honest car dealer There's your car fax I bought it from the original owner who bought it brand new in July 2018 From Tim Dally in Woods Cross
Curtis: Looks great. Do you know why the last guy sold it?
Ron: Oh yes he wanted to buy a model 3 Tesla because his buddy bought a model 3 Tesla
Curtis: Nice. If I had the $$$, I'd be interested in the Tesla, but the Leaf seems like a real good alternative. When are you open? I'm down in Lehi, but I might be able to have my dad in Layton come take a look at it.
Ron: This is my third leaf that I have as a daily driver absolutely love this car it will drive itself it will stop itself OK I'm leaving town tonight and I won't be back until Sunday night or Monday morning I am not taking this vehicle with me There is a chance I will be leaving tomorrow morning before 10 AM as well I might leave tonight I might leave tomorrow morning My address is 1449 N. Angel St. Suite number five Layton, UT 84041 and it's Tech100 auto repair and sales
Curtis: Is there anyone else who works there who could help us while you're away, or should I just plan to sync up with you next week?
Ron: Every Labor Day we have a big trip planned to UTV invasion in Idaho my whole family and my employees will all be there If you want somebody to come and look at it or if you want to come and look at it it's going to have to be today or it's gonna have to be the first of next week I will be here on Labor Day
Curtis: OK no worries. I'll check with my dad to see if he has time to come check it out today, or I'll try to get up to Layton on Monday. Thanks. My dad said he'll come take a look at it at lunch time today. His name is John Gibby. My name is Curtis Gibby, by the way.
Ron: Got it no problem I'm washing it right now not that it was dirty Wednesday · 2:29 PM John came we took a nice long drive in the vehicle what did he think?
Curtis: He liked it a lot. My schedule doesn't really work to come up to check it out myself tonight (and/or make a final decision to purchase), but I'm very interested in coming up after you get back on Monday.
Ron: It's not going anywhere for four days it's just going in my garage at my house if you want to come and look at it maybe on Labor Day I will be back here on Monday if you wanna come up and look at it My bottom price is 23,000 for that car that's what I would sell it for
Curtis: OK good to know. That's about where I was hoping to get it for. 🙂
Ron: You can have it for 23+ you're going to have to pay sales tax on it
According to Nissan, the SL Technology Package includes:
Apparently the "Protection package" is a warranty on the paint.
