... because it will be made illegal in Java 8.

Just filing this, but I would be unsurprised if it's not seen as worth bothering with.

I was expecting another 'assert' or 'enum' situation, but actually no, JDK 8 will only make it a warning itself, so there is very little reason not to just close this suggestion.
