I have the same Issue
Hmm. Guys, I need you to enable debug logging and tell us more about your systems. I understand correctly, the previous version worked fine (which one)?
Hi The 0.8.0 works fine for sure. I don't remember if I tried 0.8.1 or 0.8.2 I enable the warning logs, and still have the same ERROR
Logger: root Source: custom_components/ble_monitor/sensor.py:595 First occurred: 9:27:33 (13 occurrences) Last logged: 9:39:35

RuntimeError: Event loop stopped before Future completed.
We need debug logging for component, not warning.
Also, tell me, do you have access to system shell?
We need to look at the btmon
command output at the time the component starts (stop HA, run btmon
tool, start HA, wait for error occurs, stop btmon by CTRL+C)
I have the "SSH&Web Terminal" integration installed. But don't know how to look at the btmon :(
My logs :

OK. More questions:
Show also your ble_monitor config.

I have a Zigbee key (Pizigate) on my GPIO. It use the ttyS0 port. Working fine with ZHA
I tried several config, the actual :
ble_monitor: active_scan: false discovery: true hci_interface: 0
OK, thank you. Сan you throw off a longer log? I need two errors, and everything in between.
It looks like send_scan_request
for some reason does not complete before the period
expires (60 seconds by default).
In theory, it is waiting for the result of checking the capabilities of the bluetooth interface to determine which set of capabilities to use (legacy or extended). Something is wrong with this procedure...
Today I'll try to setup 4.17 on my raspberry and see how it goes.

Thank you. Tell me also, how is your raspberry connected to the network? Ethernet or WiFi?
Ethernet
Installed fresh HassOS 4.17 on my raspberry. I don't have any problems (however, I have an RPi3b+).
I have no idea yet what this might be related to. Have you tried reinstalling the component?
Yeah, i tried some reinstall
I have the same issue. these are my specs and logs:

@ibitas Thanks for the logs!
Is it a RPi4 too?
What's your period
option? Default 60s, or lower?
@ibitas please also check the syslog for any suspicious errors.
No, its a generic intel-based linux machine. Period is 10s
Guys, I ask you to try the code from the magalex_experiments
branch (either all of it or just replace the contents of the aioblescan_ext.py
file and restart HA). Changed a few things and added debug messages.
Thank you! Will try that later and post my logs
Done -> same error + 1 new (the last line)

I am adding diagnostic "error" messages in an attempt to get closer to the point of failure.
OK. Now we need to replace the content of the __init__.py
file

@vini59fr @ibitas I cannot explain what is happening. Therefore, I propose to approach the problem from the other side. I need information about which version of the component works for you. Which one works for you now. @vini59fr, you mentioned version 0.8.0. Please confirm that it works for you now.
I reinstalled 0.8.1 (as i can't see the 0.8.0, maybe it's the "master" version). And it seems to be fine But I'm trying to had a LYWSDCGQ sensor without success

Hi,
I also started to experience the same problem, and for me it was weird because it started sometime around 4-5 in the morning yesterday (Central European Time), while we were sleeping and there's no auto-update turned on for any components to my best knowledge.
Downgrading to 0.8.1 didn't fully solve the issue for me. All of my sensors are in the "unavailable" state, but I can't see the "RuntimeError: Event loop stopped before Future completed." error in the logs anymore. I'm running it on a Raspberry PI with HassOS, latest versions.
Version 0.8.1, like 0.8.0, implements the same code for receiving data. I suspect that in this case we continue to encounter the same behavior as yesterday (with the latest code in the magalex_experiments
branch based on 0.8.3) - there are no errors, but the connection to the interface is terminated for an unknown reason without any notification...
0.8.3 differs in that it carries out a preliminary check of the interface capabilities in order to subsequently start scanning in accordance with the capabilities (this is necessary to comply with the Bluetooth 5.x specification). And closing the connection before the check is complete results in an error. In 0.8.1 and earlier, there is no check, so there is no error, but nothing works. I'm starting to think that the problem is not in the component, or in the aioblescan library, but deeper in the system.
@vini59fr, related to the above, I have drawn attention to your old issue #79.
@szatmariandras, welcome to our little club... I'm sorry you had to face this. Do you remember, what version of the component did you have installed before reinstalling it? Did I understand correctly, you had version 0.8.3, and it worked until a certain moment? Do you use RPi4? Do you have any GPIO extensions installed? Other Bluetooth related components?
@vini59fr, related to the above, I have drawn attention to your old issue #79.
@Magalex2x14 Damn !!! I didn't remember that. So I just did the same. Power Off my Rpi4, wait some seconds. Then switch On ... everything works fine! Then I updated to 0.8.3, and everythsing still works fine !
It seems like my internal BT need some power refresh
@Magalex2x14 No need to be sorry about this. I find this extension extremely valuable and I highly appreciate the work your doing. ;)
have installed before reinstalling it? Did I understand correctly, you had version 0.8.3, and it worked until a certain moment? This is correct, it stopped working while we were asleep
Do you use RPi4? Yes
Do you have any GPIO extensions installed? Other Bluetooth related components? I can't recall installing such things, so I assume there isn't
But what's weird is that it didn't work even with reinstalling 0.8.1, but then after a full reboot of the RPi it started working again as you can see on the screenshot.
Shall I try updating to 0.8.3 again to see what happens? I prefer stability and I won't have much time during the week to debug things, but if I can try to help to pinpoint possible causes.
@szatmariandras if you are not interested in the changes introduced in 0.8.3 then not necessarily, judging by @vini59fr's feedback...
@vini59fr I am glad that everything worked, despite the fact that we did not understand reliably what happened.
In my experience, such strange incidents in the case of the Raspberry can be related to power problems and the proximity of "noisy" devices (such as SSDs).
And I also remembered that the appearance of a neighbour's smartphone in the reception area of my host (Samsung, I don't remember the model) led to problems with the bluetooth interface (errors appeared in the system log) :) Resetting the interface helped. But this has not happened for a long time.
@ibitas how are you doing? Does restarting the host helps? Since you have full control over the system, I can suggest that you also stop and disable the bluetoothd
service daemon (I saw such a recommendation in the documentation for one library, which works on the same principle as our component).

@gr47dr @ilvenos sad the power off trick didn't help you. As we managed to find out with the guys above, for some reason the system closes the connection to the hci-interface before starting the scan without any notice. A component error occurs when it tries to close the connection, and we are still waiting for the scan to complete (which, in fact, did not start). The problem is not due to a component update. It's just that in the latest version of the component, this problem becomes noticeable (in earlier versions, scanning also does not work, but it is simply not displayed in the log in any way).
I have been waiting for @ibitas to return, hoping that he can find something useful in the syslog.
Searching the internet gives quite a few results with a similar problem. For example, a dude needs to turn off / turn on his laptop to make his bluetooth mouse work again. Nothing else doesn't help. Another one example.
@ilvenos Since you have complete control over the system, I suggest continuing with you for now (if you want).
First, look in your syslog
for any suspicious bluetooth messages.
Secondly, to make sure that you are facing the same problem, do the following:
sudo btmon
on the command lineTry the solutions that are offered on stackexchange at the link above in the text. Be sure to let us know if any of this helps.
In newer versions of the component, I will catch this error, and the component will no longer die. However, this is not a solution to the problem.
I have no other ideas yet... As a permanent workaround, I suggest trying an external BT USB stick. They are not expensive now and often perform better than the built-in ones (in addition to their external position, it is also possible due to the fact that most of them are BT4.x with polished software support). The TP-Link dongle was recently mentioned on the our forum topic.
Found Something in my syslog:
16:45 Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: 'brcm/BCM-0b05-17cb.hcd' kernel
16:45 Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: 'brcm/BCM20702A1-0b05-17cb.hcd' kernel
16:45 Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: firmware Patch file not found, tried: kernel
is that the problem? how can i fix that? reboot did not fix that problem.
I have no answers to your questions. But Google leads to interesting reading.

Turning off / on is the first recommendation on the Intel NUC support page :D And below is disabling BT in BIOS and pulling out the power cord.
@ibitas thanks. I don't know what to tell you. Doesn't seem like an error... But maybe this is for you.
Hi
My Passive BLE integration is no more working. I deleted my "old" sensor (only 3 LYWSDCGQ) to start a new fresh install. But it's impossible to pair them :(
I have this Error on my logs
