Update -> blank screen #34

Hi there, Today I've just make the updates asked for ma Cutiepi tablet. After reboot, I see icones loading in the top of the screen. Than... nothing, except a white screen. I cannot open any menu. I tap everywhere not nothing appears. Is the tablet still supported? Any advice to exit for this stucked situation? Thank you

Hi @guy-teube thanks for the bug report. Latest Raspberry Pi OS "Bookworm" went with a Wayland-default compositor setup, which is causing a lot of headache to support, but we are working on it.

Please consider using this Gnome-based Ubuntu 24.04 image before there's a proper fix: https://github.com/cutiepi-io/pi-gen_stage4.5-cutiepi/releases/tag/2024-05-05

Thank you it's done with Ubuntu 24.04. I still have the bug that shut down the screen when I plug the cable to charge the tablet. I had the same with an old version of Cutiepi OS. Is it a material issue, that can't be fixed what ever the OS?

@guy-teube That sounds like a firmware issue that's been fixed a while back -- could you please check this firmware flashing instructions, and see if that's something you're comfortable doing? https://github.com/cutiepi-io/cutiepi-firmware?tab=readme-ov-file#flash
