Guys this is a very nice development. We are working on a humanoid which uses small but torque 40kgcm servos Savox 1270TG. We wanted to use your board to control it via CAN with current-based torque control and position control, PID etc. We want to use a 14but AMS magnetic encoder to sense the horn position. Can we use your board on it and for testing do you sell the developed tested board? We dont have deep embedded experience so will you be able to take a development work?

Hi, we don't have it available in an online store but we might be able to sell you one or two that we assembled for our own use, if it helps with your development. I will have to check our inventory. Another option would be to fix the design (there is a small error in the PCB) and have it manufactured by someone.

We want to use a 14but AMS magnetic encoder to sense the horn position.

We have an extension for this board to do this, if you are interested: https://github.com/cvra/angle-sensor-board. We don't have firmware for reading the sensor yet, but it could be developped.

We dont have deep embedded experience so will you be able to take a development work?

I asked who in our team would have the time to do it, I will get back to you in a few days.

It's awesome to hear about your project - a humanoid with Savox 1270TG servos sounds like some seriously cool tech!

After a chat with the team, we're stoked to let you know our board is a pretty good match for what you're looking to do - it can handle current-based torque control, position control, and PID, and should play nice with your 14bit AMS magnetic encoder for horn position sensing. Regarding getting your hands on a developed, tested board for testing, we can absolutely sort that out. We'll just need to discuss some of the specifics like timelines, costs, and how we'll get it to you.
