1.91 was written specifically to fix this issue. Can you verify that the install
replaced 1.81 - does the title bar of IPB say version 1.91?

No I can't since I never get that far. I get the error message "iPhoneBrowser
has
stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution." immediately after
starting the program. I never get any other screen so I never get a title bar.
That's why I included a copy of the problem signature. I don't get anything
else to
go by. It's frustrating since I was able to use 1.81 before my phone was
upgraded to
3.0 and as far as I know nothing else was changed on my system (just iTunes to
8.2
and iPhone to 3.0). I used Redsnow to jailbreak the phone.

See the solution for me under issue 104. You'll need to make sure there are no
remnants of previous versions.

Can confirm that todd727 solution works. Found two versions of iphone browser
in both
the add remove programs and the appdata/local folder. Removed them and
installed the
ver 1.91 and its working perfectly on my 2G 3.0 jailbroken iphone.
Thanks
Great program, keep up the good work.

I hate to sound like a jerk, but if you will read my first comment you will see
that
I tried that first. I removed ALL occurances of the program and then
reinstalled
1.91. The program does NOT start, it doesn't even bring up any screen
whatsoever.
Simply errors out. I also tried to dl the iTunesMobile.dll file to make sure I
was
using the latest and still get no joy.

Rich, did you make sure you got the Cranium folders deleted too?

I was having the same problems as everyone else as well. But then when I went to
uninstall Iphonebrowser, i found both versions listed. So, i uninstalled both,
cleared out the trash..and re-downloaded..and voila..it works again!

Thanks elementsdk1, it worked for me too! I uninstalled both, redownloaded a
new one

The previous version that I had was 1.81. And yes, I just tried (again) to
uninstall
everything, found the "Cranium" directory and deleted that as well. Reinstalled
the
program and I am still getting the "iPhoneBrowser has stopped working. Windows
can
check online for a solution." error as soon as I try to run it. And this
happens
whith or without my phone connected to the computer.

Netmage SCW - 1.81 was the one that didn't uninstall.
Rich, have you cleaned the registry? I used Registry Mechanic, but I'm sure
there
are others that would work.
My daughter's computer is a Vista machine and it was doing the same as yours,
but the
fix worked for us. I used search to find all the folders that started with
"Cranium"

Hey rich...I don't know what else to tell you. I'm running iphonebrowser 1.91
on
Vista Home and with my iPhone 3g jailbroken with 3.0 firmware and iTunes 8.2.
Once I went to the control panel to the add/remove programs and found 2
instances of
iphonebrowser and uninstalled then deleted both instances and all shortcuts and
folders associated with it on my computer, then emptied out the trash; then
reinstalled 1.91..everything worked fine. you may want to clear out you
temporary
cached folders as well, if you didn't already do so. Go to the run program..or
just
type run in the search field for vista. then enter without the quotation marks,
"%
temp%" then delete all, empty trash and try reinstalling again.
If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what else you should try.

Rich,
Please try running the program with the iPhone not connected. Hopefully that
will
verify the correct version is starting and show you an actual Window.
I plan to add some debug options to future versions to help with analysis of
this
sort of issue.

I don't know what to tell you guys. I haven't done anything strange, I simply
installed the program and clicked on the icon, then I get the error. I have
tried
it with the phone connected, the phone NOT connected, I checked to see if
compatiblity was set, it's not. And no matter what I still can't get the
program to
start. It takes about 2 seconds and the error comes up, no IphoneBrowser
window, no
debug info, no info of any kind. Just what I said in the original post. I've
tried
everything that has been suggested on the post and nothing has worked.

Well, I have decided that I am going to try a complete reload of my system.
Since it
is obvious that the problem lies with my system and not the program (apparently
I am
the only one having the issue). So on Saturday I am going to bite the bullet
and
reload the entire OS. Oh joy.

Let's try that again...
I hope to have a logging version in the next few days that might help pinpoint
the
issue, so unless you are having other issues I would hold off on a rebuild.

Yeah, I didn't think it had a connection but windows won't update, my antivirus
won't update and now
Outlook is giving me server errors so I figure maybe I should just reload the
system. But I'd be happy to
try out the new version when it comes out!

I'm running Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1, same issue. I checked for
remnants,
nothing there, wiped the temp, but it's still the same problem. It just won't
load
and all it says is "iPhoneBrowser has stopped working. [blablabla]" same as
rich's.
The window doesn't pop up at all, just the error message
Original comment by hexav...@gmail.com

Well, I did not reload my system yet. I'm still having the issue but apparently
I'm
not the only one so I thought I would wait a bit.

Yesterday I ran an antivirus program (in safe mode) and it found over 15
infected
files. I rebooted, ran another virus scan in standard mod, found one more
infection. Rebooted and ran one more time, this time the system was clean. I
was
able to run Windows Update and get all the latest and greatest for Vista
(including ".net framework v3.5") and now iPhone Browser works!! Apparently I
did
not have the latest .net framework since the virus was preventing my system
from
updating. So if you are having trouble with browser, make sure you have the
latest
update to .net and try it again.

Hey Guys,
I know this is an old issue but I am also having the same problem now..
I'm not sure if there has been any solution to this problem?
I am currently running Windows 7 though.. so maybe that has something to do
with it
as I'm unsure on the compatability..
I am able to open the program without my iPhone connected but as soon as I
connect
it says "iPhone Browser has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution
for
the problem". ..
I'm not sure what to do because I have tried using EVERY program to even get
into my
iPhone...

tried

Touch 2g

I am receiving this issue as well. It is my first time ever installing iPhone
browser,
so I definitely do not have previous versions. I tried installing the .net
framework,
but it says it is already installed in Win7 (Home Premium) by default. What is
causing
this error?
