MAKE SURE ITUNES IS INSTALLED
http://www.apple.com/itunes/

THEN INSTALL QUICKTIME (this is the missing part that normally causes the error)
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/thankyou/index.html

The problem should now be fixed!

Can't believe the solution is actually as simple as this...

Worked for me and on every other PC that I've tried the iPhoneBrowser on :)
