I wasn't seeing the canvas elements at all in my version of chrome until I tweaked the css a bit - see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17386199/height-100-not-working

What version of Chrome are you using that doesn't support vh units? I believe they've been supported since v31 at least.

I'm on v30 :-). Sorry, didn't realize I'd let Chrome rust - feel free to close obviously.
