structure it like gender, if possible, so that we can get rid of the indenting as well.

Structured similar to variant names, as has similar XPath structure and length (both have 6 element nodes along the path; gender XPath has 5 element nodes along the path). Indents properly now, and also restructured the parallel elements of activity and research interest.
