If separate messages doesn't work, let's go with "We are unable to retrieve the corpus from Voyant. Please refresh the page in a couple of minutes"
Pushed the changes for any user and corpus editor.
Also I was thinking if we can tweak the text a little bit for corpus editor to let them know that they can just try to regenerate the corpus id if it failed before without going through the edit process. The same way we do with refresh.
that sounds good, @nikathone , I am assuming it would not take too long to implement, right? if it does, we can leave it out for now
Pushed the changes.
great, thanks

Could we have two different messages, one for any user and one for the users who have editing privileges to the DToC object?
Message for any user: "We are unable to retrieve the corpus from Voyant. Please refresh the page in a couple of minutes. If the problem persists, contact the corpus owner."
Message for corpus editor: ""We are unable to retrieve the corpus from Voyant. Please refresh the page in a couple of minutes. If the problem persists, try to regenerate the corpus by editing its metadata or DToC datastream. If this method fails, contact CWRC."
