I like it, great suggestion. So a channel is not automatically curated and the curator/owner of the channel would decide what is displayed under that? The concept of "Channels" on YouTube is basically on a video level. The official channel for Cristiano Ronaldo may only add videos that were produced by his PR/media team/partners. If I've got this right, a "Channel" on Tagx would be similar but in addition to the videos they've produced, they can include other videos that were tagged with his name, even though the video may have not have been directly about him (e.g. a red carpet appearance for a movie)? This seems a lot like a higher level version of a Track.
If channels were to come in to the hierarchy then I see this being Channel -> Video -> Track -> Tag. A channel may contain one or more videos that are relevantly tagged (manually curated). A video may contain one or more tracks containing one or more tags. Note, all tags in a video are part of a track, whether it's a user created track or the "pseudo"/default track named "Highlights" (for when there is no user created tracks for a video). I know this might be a bit confusing and I have outlined the idea behind tracks in https://github.com/cxam/tagx.io/issues/1#issuecomment-591698926.
Thanks. Yes, you've understood what I mean.
If the video contains a Track called "Goals", and that contains a Tag called "Ronaldo scoring, 23 minutes", I imagine the channel curator would want to be able to link just to that Tag, or to the Track, or to the Video. If they're curating Ronaldo specific content, possibly only the Tag. In this post-Vine world of TikTok and Stories on every social media platform, getting exactly to the important/shareable/highest-value content might be a key use of the platform.

There's fear in some communities that YouTube(/others) can censor them and cut off their source of income by closing down their channel if they get reported too often. If Tagx.io was to become the place to go to find online video, you could let content creators reserve a special kind of tag (perhaps called a Channel tag) , where they can control what selection of videos (on any host) get that tag applied.
That could let creators gather all their content together from all sites under one page. That could let curators gather content from different sites under a single page.
e.g: compare Tagx.io/search/CRonaldoGoals (any clip that has that tag) Tagx.io/channel/CRonaldo (his PR/media team could link to any video he's in they want to draw attention to) Tagx.io/channel/CRonaldoGoals (a specific channel someone's claimed where they can curate a higher quality list of highlights/clips). Tagx.io/channel/BBCScotland (let's them add a "Channel-BBCScotland" tag to link out to everything they produce and make available, whether that's on their news site, iPlayer, Youtube, etc).
p.s. By "Tag" I mean "Textual Label"
