When specifiing thumbnails they should keep their aspect ratio, stretching is ugly and sooo 90s ;)

I just want to express my support for this idea without opening a new issue.

I tried playing around with your provided CSS function but I couldn't fix it myself. It probably would be possible but I'm a total noob and after a couple of hours of trial and error I'm out of ideas.

Please consider fixing this issue. Thank you for your work.
