What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Edit a KeyNote file on Windows 8.1 (originally created/edit on another
Windows version such as Win 7 or XP)
2. Open the *.knt file on an earlier Windows (e.g. 7 or XP) and edit a note
3. When the note is saved, observe some problems (see below)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Notes should be portable and editable across windows platforms with no problems
editing/saving notes. Instead various problems occurred when and edit file is
saved; I've noticed each of the following happening in different cases:
- the keynote app hangs - and must be killed
- the edited note is corrupted in some way - text/content is merged, or gets
deleted (Create Hyperlink would pop up as well once).
What version are you using? On what operating system?
KeyNote-NF 1.7.9.3 Beta 3 on Windows 8.1 Pro, Windows 7 Pro, Windows XP SP3
Please provide any additional information below.
I think I found a work around for this, based on this forum topic:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/keynote-nf/pYQ_TdJL-Mc
Taking the msftedit.dll from my Windows 7 \windows\system32 folder and copying
it into the folder containing keynote.exe on my Win 8.1 system seems to fix the
problem (so far anyway).
Fwiw, I never had problems going between Win 7 and XP, but problems occur on
both Win 7 and XP when edited on 8.1.
