Lost All Data #289

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

Am afraid I cannot say what steps were taken to make this happen, as I did not
do anything out of the ordinary or notice and crash/failure etc.

But basically, I record tracks every I drive. This is every day. I have to then
share each track (that is stored internally in the app) to the SD card as a GPX.

I forgot to do this for about a week and when I went to do it, all my previous
track data had simply disappeared! So I lost about 11 days worth of data.

This leads onto my feature request...

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
All tracks present, regardless of whether they have been shared or not.

Which Android device are you using?
HTC Desire

What version of Android are you running?
2.3.3

What version of the Open GPS Tracker are you running?
1.2.3

Please provide any additional information below.

I am sorry to hear about the lost data. There is a button / function in manage
applications that does just that. It clears all data for an app. In case op OGT
that would mean all losing all recorded tracks.

I hope to find time to implement issue 155 and 110. Those would add both cloud
based backup and an SD-card backup respectively.

Hi, I have a feeling it was probably nothing to do with OGT as I also lost all
SMS/MMS data... so something went wrong with my phone.

Really hope you get time to sort out the auto-export function. Would be great :)

Thanks for the great app.
