Support for automate security key/Biometric authentication

I would like cypress test automation framework support for automate security key/ biometric authentication flows. Sample scenarios:

• Ensure application end-user able to register a FIDO2 supported security device via self care portals
• Ensure application end-user able to authenticate to business application using the registered FIDO2 security device

Why is this needed?

Most of the software access management contains the facility of authentication with security key and biometric identifications. Having this feature with your product will be a great since now traditional username and password authentications are not much popular.

My product also support for security key/biometric authentication and currently I'm looking to automate such scenario with cypress. There are two way we can approach this.

• Have automation support form cypress framework for fido device (Security key) or biometric (ex: fingerprint access)
• Have automation support from cypress framework for virtual authentication (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebAuthn)
