We're thrilled to announce our upcoming software development meetup event, specifically tailored for first-time speakers.
Save the date: July 13th is the day!
Join us in showing support for our first-time speaker guests.
Our first speaker is a coding educator for kids, specializing in teaching through platforms like Scratch, Roblox, and more.
In this presentation, the speaker will share their approach to planning coding lessons for kids, with a focus on creating a fun, engaging, and educational experience. The audience will gain insights into the key elements that shape the curriculum, such as hands-on activities, interactive games, and collaborative projects. By incorporating gamification and project-based learning, the speaker aims to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and computational thinking in young learners. The audience will also learn how the lessons are tailored to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, creating an inclusive and supportive environment. Join the speaker on this exciting adventure, exploring the wonders of coding and empowering the next generation of digital creators.
Our second speaker is a biologist and scientist who enjoys keeping an air of mystery. Her presentation will delve into the fascinating world of genome sequencing.
Solving the human genome puzzle In 2003, biologists created the first ever human genome. The 3 billion DNA letter sequence, called the reference genome, was mostly made up of DNA donated from people in the city of Buffalo, New York. It was as close to complete as the technologies for sequencing DNA allowed at the time. Twenty years later, with the advancement of DNA sequencing technologies, scientists release the first draft of the “pangenome” DNA reference. The new pangenome incorporates complete DNA data collected from ethnically diverse individuals which more accurately reflects human diversity.
Our third guest speaker is a talented junior game developer who will be sharing insights on Blender pipelines.
Stay tuned for more exciting topics that will be announced soon!
