Performance is one of those areas that can greatly improve the user experience, increase growth, and lead companies to a higher conversion rate. Web vitals is an initiative introduced by Google that aims to standardise the way we measure performance, trying to improve aspects such as loading time, time it takes for a page to become interactive, as well as visual stability. Those metrics are also used by multiple performance tools such as Performance Insights, Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights etc. In this talk I will explain the key metrics of web vitals, as well as illustrate how they are used by some performance tools.
