Also, tried running the commands as is, and I got an error where the corefreqk was not found in /lib/modules/5.15.39-4-pve I checked that directory does exist, and no the file does not reside in that folder. 

modprobe: FATAL: Module corefreqk not found in directory /lib/modules/5.15.39-4-pve
root@servername:/lib/modules/5.15.39-4-pve# ls
build   modules.alias      modules.builtin            modules.builtin.bin      modules.dep      modules.devname  modules.softdep  modules.symbols.bin
kernel  modules.alias.bin  modules.builtin.alias.bin  modules.builtin.modinfo  modules.dep.bin  modules.order    modules.symbols  zfs

Well.... On second go around with the deletion of the folder, and rebuilding... it seems to have worked? No clue what is different this time, I only followed it command by command...
