The api to fetch events returns HTML instead of JSON #12

This calendar is working on my localhost. Just installed it on the server and I don't see any events, because the AJAX call returns HTML instead of JSON.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

This looks similar to issue #4 which was fixed in PR #8.
