Unable to launch latest version from just Homebrew #168

I wanted to make an emuNAND backup on a Japanese 3DS for someone. They still have 9.2 with an 11.3 emuNAND. I seem to recall Decrypt9 not working from emuNAND Homebrew, so I loaded Homebrew via CtrBootManager (not the greatest, I realize) to ensure it was loading over sysNAND. There was a red flash every time, and it would exit the Homebrew Launcher returning to the pink CtrBootManager screen. This was fixed by downloading the Oct 21 build, which had a working .3dsx

I'm not really sure what to attribute this problem to, but hopefully this report makes sense.

backing up an emunand is a million times faster on a computer. use emunandtool.

Confirmed. Launching it via the Homebrew Launcher does the same thing. I have also tried the latest nightly to no avail. I am using 11.3U. In fact, this happens on the following applications by @d0k3: EmuNAND9Tool, GodMode9, and Decrypt9WIP.

Okay, old issue. On newer systems, the standard method of loading should be SoundHax + Safehax. Did you try this? Maybe already got this solved? The 3dsx file will only work on systems between 9.0 and 9.2, and even then there may be trouble with partial downgrades.

@d0k3 Okay, I'll try this when I have time. Thanks!

Well for my part with the emuNAND setup that was of course based off 9.2. The fact that the older build worked signals a pretty specific issue to me. Of course that 3DS is all a9lh now so not really useful for further testing.
