Opening new files or switching buffers lags a little bit. The issue is less pronounced when the buffer is "warmed up". Note that gvim is basically instantaneous in this regard.
Tested on Linux, with neovim 0.3.8, with the 0.2.0 neovim-gtk release (built with cargo).
