Power management: Dynamic screen. #9

Power management in linux sucks! We need some command line tools to adjust stuff like backlight, gamma, color temperature and contrast. For longer batterylife, you need backlight to be low or off as much as possible. To get the back light down, we need to put backlight down, screen brightness up, color temperature, brightness and gamma can be used to make the screen easier to read to get the backlight way down. Screen needs to dim faster and be dimmer, but the change needs to be more gradual. We also need a list of knowable app/situation combinations that should prevent the power management from ruining your movie. Nobody likes their computers constantly bothering them, so this should be on/off kind of feature, while being extremely customizable to work with many different systems. Make an effort to support multiple redundant ways to do stuff, if its cheap on resources. (another ticket for cpu and mass storage).
