Chinese language not displayed properly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.When I change the language to chinese,many words can't showing!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Can't you let all the chinese word showing correct?

What version of the product are you using?
20120415-11
20120711-r1400
both same problem!

Please provide any additional information below.

ex: auto iso = 自動iso值, but it just show  自________
(only one word,or no any word! )

Chinese translations (traditional or simplified) are disabled, both in the 
released version and the nightly build... you are not supposed to see any text 
in Chinese at all. Or are you doing your own translation?

Yes,I'm Taiwanese,and I try to translate some word to chinese(I use the default 
"new_lang.ini" file),some word can showing,but many word can't.

Hi.
1. You should not translate the first line after the comment lines (the ones 
starting with ';') [繁體中文]. This should be left as [TRADITIONAL_CHINESE].
2. Please attach the file here. Do not paste it. It may be different in the 
file and when you paste it we cannot check it correctly.

No matter I use [繁體中文]or[TRADITIONAL_CHINESE],400D can change the 
language,but can't show the word normally.

I have tracked the bug down to the "dialog_set_property_str" call: after 
ensuring that we are sending proper values to that function, it still fails, 
and only the first characters are displayed. That function is part of the 
original firmware, and cannot be modified by us; and I also doubt that we can 
easily replace it with some code of our own.

So, unless someone else comes with a solution, I think we'll have to close this 
issue as "unfixable" soon; sadly, "Simplified Chinese" will never be available 
as a translation.

It may be something in the camera build-in fonts... but this would need more 
work, I would suggest to set the status back to "Accepted" until we find more 
time for this issue and decide it's feature later.

Agreed.

Funny thing is that our camera already supports Traditional Chinese in the 
menus, I do not understand why it does not work in ours...

No news on this, sorry. Your translation seems correct, our code seems correct, 
but camera just refuses to display some characters. I guess the firmware does 
not contain all Traditional Chinese characters, only those needed in their 
menus.
