When naming presets, the cursor sometimes scrolls several spaces to the right without user provocation

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Select a preset and choose "Rename."
2.Begin entering a name for the preset, and eventually the cursor scrolls right 
several spaces.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The cursor shouldn't move more than one space at a time unless the user presses 
the +/- key multiple times.

What version of the product are you using?
r1507

I managed to reproduce it: in the rename screen, holding the + button sometimes 
causes the cursor to continue moving even after I release the button. Looks 
like the menu did not detect the user releasing the button.
