We currently limit the range on those scripts based on what the camera tells us
about the lens; does not seem too complex to add an option to override that.

it's really not needed. May be only beginners... And then - EMF chip can set
every parameter needed. Change your chinese chip to EMF or Lushnokov.

You miss the point, it's very useful with the hyperfocal distance, especially
with different manual lenses (among other things). The DOF calculator on camera
it's great. I don't need the AF confirmation chip. Anyway, if you are a "Pro",
you really don't need the 400d.

In my experience after 30 sec of shutter speed does really not matter Long
exposure calculator settings. It's not real results calculated. Only your
experience and tries needed. I was try calculate, but pictures or overexposed
or underexposed. It's for real beginners. I'm shutting about half year, But it
not really need for me, I'm shutting based real shots and experience. Dof
calculator may be needed, but you can see all in viewfinder. It's quicker. And
EMF chip I use only for EXIF focus distance and apperture. And sometime for
focus microadjustment. If you not need confirmation, don't use confirmation.
