As shown at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/For_Developers canon 5d have same cpu. 
May be possible get 5d firmware and change screen driver, matrix driver and 
focusing system driver. May be it's crazy, but idea.

it's not crazy, it's impossible.
the firmwares in 400d and 5d are almost the same, the hardware is different.
