Custom Modes assignments disappearing from scene modes #316

After setting up custom mode 0 and assigning it to Auto, I notice that after 
creating a new mode or turning the mode dial to a creative mode and back, the 
assignment disappears. Attempting to reassign the mode to the dial location 
fails (no response after selecting assign and pressing SET).

For the other scene positions, the assignments disappear randomly. I notice 
that after removing the card, some custom modes that were created are not in 
the directory listing. These are the modes that were created and then 
disappeared from the scene mode position. It appears that the custom modes are 
somehow being deleted.
