Thumbnail Zoom Plus is a Firefox plug-in which shows a full-size image pop-up when you hover over a thumbnail or image link. When you hover your mouse over a thumbnail or an image or video link, the add-on displays the full-size image or video still-frame in a floating window. Supported sites include Amazon, Bing, Facebook, Flickr, Google, IMDb, LinkedIn, Netflix, Pinterest, Reddit, Tumblr, Twitter, Yandex.ru, YouTube, Wikipedia, WordPress, Yahoo Images, and many more.

Site request: instagram.com & full-size image in its own tab idea #101

instagram.com

Example - an account I visit for the "vinyl":

heightfiveseven on Instagram http://instagram.com/heightfiveseven

How about a setting that allows options to:

= show only the image on mouse-over or = show the image and its overlay or = show the image and keep the overlay even after mouse out

full-size image in its own tab idea

How about providing a way to easily (and universally) open an full-size image it its own tab?

I think other people would find it very useful too.

Idea 1

TNZ could put a DIV on the thumb and if you left click (or middle click) - it opens the full size image following the rules of the users tab settings.

And the DIV allows tweaking (via Stylish or whatever)

You probably know a better way - but a bullet point is an easy way to make a circle that can be changed with css.

The idea just came to me and I'm sure I'm forgetting things.

Idea 2

A less graceful solution would be a keyboard shortcut. I dunno... Ctrl + mouse-click or something. I think idea one is much better since TMZ is active on mouse over.

Hello,

What do you mean by "show the image and its overlay"? What is the overlay? Do you mean the caption text which appears below the Thumbnail Zoom Plus (TZP) pop-up (if enabled in TZP preferences)?

For "Idea 1", TZP already lets you universally open the pop-up image in a new tab by pressing the 't' key while the pop-up is displayed, or in a new window by pressing the 'n' key. Does that do what you want? TZP doesn't have any way to do this other than the hotkeys. Adding something visual to the thumb might be nice, but it also might interfere with the site's own layout and is potentially hard to implement in a way which would work with all sites and types of thumbs (img's, background-image styles, etc.).

I guess what is already there is like Idea 2.

What do you think?
