This PR fixes a rather big problem generated by a typo which was present in PR #36 .

Hi Teo, can you please check that all the solvers run without issues? Then we can merge this PR!

I just found a pathological case. I close the PR and I will reopen it when it will be fixed.

I fixed the bug presented in issue #40 and I ran some tests. They all passed, so I consider the problem solved and I'm reopening the pull request.
