Able to reproduce in both 4.1.1 running on MC1.20.2 and 5.0.2 running on MC1.21.1.
When connecting to the server with a new installation of the game client, shift-clicking to automatically push items around (or, in my use case, pull a maximum stack of product off the crafting grid), causes an immediate disconnection and crash to desktop - typically with exit code -1.
The language presented in the error box suggests it doesn't like shift-clicking until it's seen a clean shift-click once and that the problem is on the client side. Server remains stable and sees the player disconnect voluntarily.
WORKAROUND:
Starting a single player game and shift-clicking stuff out of the crafting grid consistently resolves this bug for further gameplay, including subsequent starts. I'm guessing there's something that the server is generating that the single player mode forces the local client to generate when made to do so.
