"Invalid range" plugin error when opening fish file #45

when opening a fish file I get:

E16: Invalid range: ----w

not sure how to debug this further. any ideas?

➜ vim --version

i get the same when i invoke funced to edit a function. i deleted vim-fish and re-cloned to no avail. if anyone out there knows what's up or can point me in the right direction, let me know.
