Add quick start and comparison documentation

This pull request builds on #92, which builds on #84. It adds a quick start and comparison documentation.

These pull requests can be merged in order: #84, then #92, then this one.

[] ~Tutorials should be universally reproducible. If this request modifies a tutorial, does it assume we're starting from a blank Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus) image?~

Documentation link was sent out yesterday (Tues 7/10) and we're in the process of improving the documentation.
