It would be great if the project included the design rule file used to check for electrical errors in the PCB layout. This way we can make sure any modifications to the files are within the standard spec. The reason I'm suggesting this is because we are attempting to handle #1 by re-creating the power and ground planes as polygon pours, but we want to make sure these pours are not violating the design rules for the PCB. Once we have them we can send a PR that should close #1.
