Unlike other distributions, we do not automatically include a (1|obs) term for the distributional component of the zero-inflated models. I'm working on an example in which this matters. It can be added easily using a (1|sp@site) term. Even if we don't want to include it automatically, it might be worth alerting people to the issue in the documentation.
