This pull request also changes around the way that getting a day's events (when you click on the calendar) works. It does not fix it, because I'm running into an error that I don't understand (it's something with jbuilder, I think). But it didn't work before, and it didn't work now, so it's not like it really changed. (We should talk about it though because my guess is it's an easy fix.)
