On macOS the "Settings (⌘,)" or "Preferences (⌘,)" menu item is usually placed in the menu with the name of the application. Almost always the name "Preferences" is chosen.

Ok we can move it to the Application menu for mac. Do you see "Preferences" on Mac or Windows? I am hardly seeing it on my macOS setup (just Firefox really).

Yes, on Mac I always see "Preference," never "Settings". I checked:

Ah this is why "macOS Ventura: System Preferences is now System Settings" https://www.macworld.com/article/803390/macos-ventura-system-preferences-settings.html

Although the article also says this "Mac app settings are still called Preferences and they are still located within each app’s Preferences menu." and for me, that's incorrect.

I suspected it would be something like that.

Ok so can we stick with "Settings", since I think that is good for Windows too?

I guess so. I liked "Preferences" better but consistency is more important.
