Done the best I (now!) can with the dedication, after consulting a number of examples in the corpus. Hope it's satisfactory...
It looks like a lot of French doesn't have italics, why is that? All non-English should have italics in the general case.
Also some French is not marked up at all:
Mon maitre-mon maitre!” he call’d twice, and then “Sauve toi!”
. That also has a missing diacritic onmaitre
.This could also do with a production note saying that much of the archaic spelling is retained as part of the prose style of this historical fiction
