A customer informed us that his USB dongle for WiFi was not being accessed while running OS version 4.02. This case is being opened to test and confirm this. The customer specified the USB WiFi dongle is a Tenda.

Going to migrate this case into a discussion. When a USB wifi adapter is connected to the system, depending on the model and circumstances it may occupy the wlan0 interface spot, if it does it is likely to operate correctly. If it does not occupy the wlan0 interface it will not be utilized for the active connection by design. In addition to the interface requirements, some scanning and functions called by the nmcli application may not be supported by the device as well.

If a lot of interest is gained to support external wifi adapters, and specifically the Tenda models we will migrate this back into a case and determine the necessary steps to make them compatible.
