100% science win. You only get the meaningful results by doing the correct, careful analysis. I don't think you should switch to river flow. We'll focus on telling this science story, even if the result isn't as clear as you wanted (though it's arguably good news that DO isn't going down).

One idea would be to take a look back at the 2000-2020 data, now that you have your tools polished up. Does your most recent approach enable you to assess more definitively whether or not there are trends (as suggested in the EPA report) in DO during that time period?

Also, are there other locations in HC (esp further south) where you have a few decades worth of data that you can look for trends in (even if they don't go back to 1930)?
