Let's try this again. Please merge #56 and #57 first.

When you look through the ttf diffs:

In the name table, id=4 is generated by ufo2ft. I don't see a meaningful way except binary patching to match GF exactly
In C and the Monos, name ids 16, 17 and 18 are deleted. ufo2ft deletes 16 and 17 when they're the same as 1 and 2. 18 is something Macish it seems, so it probably went with the other Mac name table stuff.

I didn't go for zero diff as I didn't find that useful for the name table.

What are the remaining parts that are consciously remaining different?

Patch status so far:

del inferior/uniEFFD.*
openTypeNameVersion="0.83" -> "Version 0.830 UFO Source"
uniEFFD ersion "*.superior" -> "*.inferior"

Within the name table, the diffs in my previous comment remain. Within the rest of the font, the diffs I commented on in #5 remain (I haven't changed anything else since then except #56 and #57).
