Hi, I'm able to use the Ubuntu font in small caps in the web browser, but if I understand correctly this is done by rescaling fullsize capitals. I'm not able to address a smallcaps layer in XeLaTeX, per this discussion on Stack Exchange.
LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `TU/Ubuntu(0)/m/sc' undefined
(Font) using `TU/Ubuntu(0)/m/n' instead on input line 14.
This issue is solved in the version provided over the new repository at https://github.com/canonical/Ubuntu-fonts, which is currently under development by other agencies such as Type Network.
