Device status not updating but getting notifications #122

None of my devices in vera are updating either on my iPhone or iPad Mini as a server. However I am getting notifications of device state changes on my iPhone.

I also have a similar problem, sometimes devices appear as 'Updating' for a while when i start the Home app, but they do end up updating after a while.

This however seems to cause lag when using Siri to activate, and sometimes she responds that she could not reach the device, even tho the command went through.

No errors are indicated in the logs sadly

Update: I've deleted other platforms in config, only Vera is in there.

Upon restarting homebridge, I get status almost instantly. Then I open the home app and they get stuck updating (haven't seen red "not responding though"). I go back to the swipe up and I never get status again, stuck on updating.

So I can recreate it sometimes by restarting homebridge and swiping up. It works once.

What's weird is that my Thermostat is an Ecobee3 which is a HomeKit device which isn't part of homebridge and I can't even get that.

Looks more like a HomeKit bug to me. I recommend you to try disabling iPad as a home hub and try reseting Home on your iPhone (probably with iCloud Sign-out and Sign in again)

Does that only happen while you are away (on LTE) or on the same Wi-Fi as well?

I have HomeKit running now through my iPhone and not the iPad. I've reset HomeKit and started over with config.json. Tried everything you said. My ecobee updates instantly now. Just not Vera or my liftmaster2 plugin. Liftmaster2 will update instantly if the Vera platform is removed from config.

Still the same issue whether on LAN or remotely.

Update: Tried it as standalone and works perfectly! I am using a mac btw.

@thauch any unusual scenes (that are presented as switches) appearing in the previous setup?

Any chance you can enable debugging and let us know what's going on? standalone is not really getting the same amount of features.

thauch commented 7 years ago

I do have 6 scenes in my Vera but nothing unusual. They do show up as switches in homebridge but not standalone. The scenes are for sensors which are disabled by default so maybe that's why I don't see them now?

I can try debug later and see if there are any differences.

What types of features? Everything I need works like ignoredevices, etc.

Hey. So I have a very similar bug (so I'm posting here).

Whenever I go to home app, it tries to refresh home bridge components. It says "updating" for a while under each component (several seconds) Then it says "no response" under each component Then after a while the values appear(or when I tap a component after it is in its "no response" state.

I do get random notifications... But nothing trustworthy.

I should add that my Hue lights are behaving normally, aside home bridge devices.

Hi

I'm facing the same I have the latest version 0.76 it's taking a while to update then suddenly no réponse and sometimes it's fine.

The behaviour Is not consistent i try wether from my iPad or iphone same behaviour..

It could be an unstable connection to the app? Or miss communication..?

tsviper commented 7 years ago

I had this issue as well. I happen to have 4 dual relay switches and I had to ignore the parent device for each and then everything is now updating as it should.
