Moving Pictures is a movies plug-in for the MediaPortal media center application. The goal of the plug-in is to create a very focused and refined experience that requires minimal user interaction. The plug-in emphasizes usability and ease of use in managing a movie collection consisting of ripped DVDs, and movies reencoded in common video formats supported by MediaPortal.

Support Multiple Pin Codes for Parental Controls #959

Great plugin!

However, I would like the option of having a pincode assigned to a specific
certification, e.g. PG, PG-13, R, 7 years, 12 years, 15 years, etc.
As I have two kids spaced with three years, they are not allowed to watch the
same movies. The curreent parental controls divides movies in only two
categories...

If I use the parental control option, together with unwatched or all movies
category on the GUI, I get a list of ALL my movies and just a pin code for
parental controlled movies.
However, I don't want my kids to see the grown-up movies on the list, and even
worse, I don't want to see 400 Disney movies in my adult list :-)

Right now I have to use folders for each certification, and then use myvideos
for the kid movies. So I only use Moving Pictures for grown-up movbies (from a
seperate NASE folder)
I would like to use the Moving Pictures plug-in for everything!

If I make categories based on certification filters, and combine with parental
control, I can solve the problem about having the 400 kid movies shown together
with my grown-up movies.
But I still need to seperate G, PG and PG-13 from each other, with individual
pin codes. That is probably the easy part for you guys :-)

BUT I also need to be able to group different regional ratings (i.e. PG, 7
years & PG-13, 12 years, 11 år) together with the same pin code!
So pin codes must not be filter based, but certification rating based!
Each type of rating, from different kinds of regions/countries should be
assigned a pincode. Then you can give same pincode to similar certifications,
if you desire.

We could probably add the ability to store multiple PIN codes, each unlocking a
different set of movies. That way the user interface in the GUI would stay the
same and the changes to the config would not be too onerous.

We will definitely continue to stick with the filter based system though. This
is by far the most flexible system and allows you to use any criteria you want.

Agreed on the filter based system - that is really good.
Just give me pincode options for each certification present in the database :-D

thx, your work rocks!
