What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

Well, it is possible, but
1) it might require to tun on a rooted device
2) it would duplicate the OS's functionality

I decided not to go that way.

Please consider a root version for this. Right now I have to touch the widget
twice to get it to function
correctly. Once to turn the hedset off, and then back on again. It seems to
detect that there is a headset
adapter attached, but no sound comes through the headset unless the widget is
pressed twice.

This is a nice work around for cupcake, i'd just like to see it get better. :)

This is strange. Sounds like a bug. What version/build of cupcake are you
running?
Reopening. Can anyone confirm?

Sorry for the delay. I decided not to make the root version, as more roms and
even
themes come with my real headset fix. Does the widget still exhibit the
problem? I've
tried several android builds, but haven't seen that so far.

Yeah it's still doing it. Could it be the adapter that I'm using? I'm using
this
one
http://www.smavtronics.com/htc-stereo-headset-adapter-plus-11pins-to-3-5mm-and-2
-5mm-stereo-head-jack-converter-miniusb-adapter-for-charging-and-miniusb-headset
-.html

Will the "real headset fix" be available on the market soon?

Thanks for all your help. :)

I'm using the same adapter. Could you post a log, please.
The "real headset fix" won't be available on the market, cause it's a
modification of
the Android framework itself. Any build using stericsons white clock mod will
work
fine with your headset. If you are still on JF 1.51, you can try the Hero theme
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520629). I belive it contains
fixed
services.jar

I got it to work after formating my sd card from within the g1 settings. It's
still
tricky if I push the limitations.

Thank You

ah got it to work after formatting :D. only official htc adapters work
tho.(stereo
headset with 3.5mm ear buds, and the 5 in 1 ) still, im satisfied.

(

 )

 wont work. oh well.

one suggestion i do have tho, is to make it into an app, or make it to where
you can
shortcut the toggle. that way you can toggle it while browsing your music
library.

irrevelant, can someoene help me get my g1 from 1.5 cupcake to hero.?
