You should place the code in the page where you want to change the default behavior. You can take a look at my repository with sample code.

but no luck

I tried it in my home page.

even hardware back button is not navigating through pages opened from side menu.

Please help me to solve ionic 5 webview app issue with android device back button. In the ionic app when i go back to previous page ,android device back button not responding and current page only displaying. ionic webview app events are not sync with android device .....note(app made by website)
