Canon 10d : No storage descriptors available for Canon EOS 10D #98

It's impossible to transfer photos from an old Canon 10d camera : did I miss something ? It's OK with other camera devices though.

It looks very much like gphoto2 being unable to undertake all its standard operations on the camera, one of which is crucial — list the available storage devices (one or more memory cards in the camera). I suggest the camera simply too old. You are better off taking the card out of the camera and using a card reader.
