Various bug fixes from recent PRs #355

Fixes a few bugs from some PRs added since v0.3.4

  1. Fix image disappearing when card overlay is focused
  2. Centralize DB creation so future migrations are easier
  3. Ensure main page will update the server when its switched in settings
