Keyboard not responding when press key to change layers. #1

I built my first handwired keyboard using this template and following the readme to the letter. Everything works fine except that with the firmware that isn't for VIA, when pressing the keys to change layers (any layer), the keyboard would stop responding, and the only way to use it again was by reconnecting it. Then, I tried the firmware for VIA, and with that one, everything worked perfectly and runs flawlessly. It’s worth mentioning that I’m using Pro Micros with USB Type-C purchased from AliExpress

Did you compile the code yourself? Or are you using the default .hex file that I have in the repository?
