Keyboard cannot be closed anymore #1121

Open HolyMacarony opened 2 years ago

Some weeks ago there was a system update on my oneplus Nord. Since then it became impossible tho close the keyboard once it has been opened and a search was initiated the first time since starting dsub. This means pushing the 'back' arrow after you type something into the search bar and pressing enter is just ignored by the app. Instead the app closes then.

As long as into not push enter after typing something into the search bar, the keyboard can be collapsed again via the marked 'back button'. After pushing enter it stops working IMG_20220805_100733.jpg

Has anyone experienced this too?

Not being a smart ass but have you tried different keyboards? Like Gboard?

HolyMacarony commented 2 years ago

Well now i tried gboard and keepass2android.

This is with keepass2android Screenshot_2022-08-05-20-19-11-68_96324d07b5e5c2eddf1b5ebdc7ba54ed.jpg

Gboard actually works normal again but Microsoft SwiftKey ist Great for me, I miss these arrow keys in gboard. It always worked with SwiftKey for me before this latest os update :(

I've never heard of keepass2android. Is there a reason to use that for passwords instead of other methods? Was purpose of using that particular keyboard as well?

Maybe swift key will work again with another update. What are the arrows you are referring to in Gboard?

HolyMacarony commented 2 years ago

Thanks for your input. No keepass2android is just the keyboard that gets installed along with keepass for android. Nothing special about that, but being safe to not send your typed passwords to anyone. I just would have liked to continue using Swiftkey for the reason, that you can enable those navigation arrows(as shown in my screenshot) to navigate, when writing on your smartphone. I found no options in Gboard to give me something similar to navigate easily and pecisely in large texts.

OK so now every keyboard app has this exact problem in dsub. Am I seriously the only one whose keyboard is not closing when it is supposed to after searching for a song? It renders the app almost unusable because results on the lower half of the screen are not visible at all because of this. Screenshot_2022-12-13-17-57-53-53_96324d07b5e5c2eddf1b5ebdc7ba54ed.jpg

As long as the search string is just typed into the search field and not applied I can just close the keyboard by tapping the system 'back' button. But as soon as the search is applied and results are shown, the keyboard is stuck to the screen and nothing closes it anymore. I can also provide a video if it helps.
